Membership Committee

Committee Charge:

Increase membership by targeting people who have resigned while focusing on new memberships. This will be achieved through specific events, e-mails and newsletters. To continue and expand current UMAST membership through the promotion of professional development and diversity with the local public sector, neighboring municipalities, University communities, and other entities.

Committee Objectives:

• To increase UMAST membership by 10% over last year's numbers
• To enhance and communicate the benefits of being a member to current members and potential members
• To improve the renewal and new member application process

Committee Tasks:

• Conduct an aggressive Membership campaign to be launched mid to late January
• Membership dues can be received at the monthly luncheons, at the post office box, by bin mail or hand delivered to UMAST executive council members.
• Membership information and applications can be retrieved from the UMAST website. This website can be accessed from the internal COSA intranet.
• Information about UMAST can be featured in partnering organizations’ publications, such as In the City, City of San Antonio’s employee newsletter
• Encourage members to bring a prospective member to each meeting
