Special Events Committee

Committee Charge:

Continue to develop activities and seminars through breakfasts, luncheons and other events in an effort to improve, enhance and address topics that are relevant to public sector professionals, as well as encourage networking among members.

Committee Objectives:

• Provide a variety of opportunities for professional and personal development
• Increase member participation in all UMAST activities
• Establish a Subcommittee to coordinate After Business Hours Mixers

Seminar topics currently being discussed are:

• Leadership Styles
• 2007 Legislative Session
• Stress Management

Committee Tasks:

• Events will be scheduled in varied times and venues to best accommodate the membership-at-large. 
• Seminar dates and times will be promoted through the UMAST electronic newsletter as well as posted on the website’s calendar of events.
• Explore the idea of soliciting sponsorships of events by facilities and organizations, and partnering with other agencies and municipalities.
• Mixer Events will be scheduled every month.
• Have a guest of honor attend every mixer (Past Presidents, Executive level representatives from member organizations and entities)
