Communications Committee

Committee Charge:

As part of this year’s effort to increase membership through recruitment and retention, it is crucial to engage the membership. As such, UMAST will continuously exchange information with the member regarding the organization utilizing the monthly newsletter and the Internet as its main information source and email as a vital communication tool.

Committee Objectives:

• Develop newsletters that include articles from the UMAST Executive Council, article featuring UMAST members, promoting upcoming events and volunteer opportunities, as well as provide budget updates, membership goals and enrollment.
• Utilize the website and email to communicate information
• Work jointly with the Web Development Committee to develop a high quality and informative electronic newsletters and bulletins that include feature articles and information about UMAST, member organizations and entities, and best practices

Committee Tasks:

• Encourage UMAST members to participate in the development of the monthly newsletter by contributing articles, points of interest and submitting community events
• Provide a website that will serve as an additional tool to recruit members, promote upcoming events and activities, and engage members in opportunities for professional and personal development
• Coordinate with all executive committee members to maintain the website as the main communication tool for the membership
• Develop monthly newsletter which may include articles from the UMAST executive council, articles featuring UMAST members, promoting upcoming events and volunteer opportunities throughout the service area, as well provide budget updates, membership goals and enrollment
