Community Service Committee

Committee Charge:

Increase membership participation in various service activities that will include assignments given by the City Manager’s Office, mentoring children and assisting with other charitable causes.

Committee Objectives:

• Develop a timetable of potential community service activities or involvement by continuing successful past projects and closely evaluating all potential new projects or requests for assistance
• Coordinate the sale of and set up of parade seat for the Fiesta fundraising event to occur during Fiesta week.

Committee Tasks:

• Build a pool of volunteers to assist with special projects and community service activities
• Recruit 2-3 members for the committee to assist in the planning of community service activities
• Average 15 participants per community service project
• Organize UMAST members to participate in the 2008 MLK March
• Participate and organize various volunteer opportunities for UMAST members within the San Antonio community
