Mission Statement

UMAST is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of our communities through professional excellence. 

Purpose

UMAST exists to provide educational and leadership development opportunities to assist individuals in the pursuit of their career goals and interests. Our membership is open to students and working professionals within or adjacent to the public sector across the South Texas region. UMAST is an Assistants' Group affiliated with the Texas City Managers Association (TCMA) and Region 8. 

Impact

UMAST is proud to serve over 200 active members through monthly, quarterly, and annual programming. This includes a variety of options ranging from workshops, volunteer events, educational seminars, and an annual conference held in November of each year. Our membership includes dedicated students and urban management professionals seeking growth and professional development. Active members have the opportunity to join various committees to gain exposure to board operations and encouraged to seek leadership positions in the future.
