The President's Reception is our annual tradition to celebrate the holiday season, honor our board members completing their terms this December, and to introduce our newly elected board members. Join us at Maverick Texas Brasserie in Southtown on Thursday, December 15th starting at 5:00PM. This event is free for UMAST members and their guests. As part of this event, we encourage you to give to a good cause for our neighbors in need this holiday season. We will be collecting donations of non-perishable items for the San Antonio Food Bank. Please see their list of 12 Most Wanted Items for suggestions. You are invited to bring a donation with you to the President's Reception and a member of the Board will take the items a food bank donation drop off location.
We are recruiting volunteers to help us with Fiesta 2023, our biggest annual fundraising opportunity! Every year, UMAST sells tickets for a section of hundreds of chairs along the Battle of Flowers and Fiesta Flambeau parade route. Our volunteers assist with setting up and taking down chairs, labeling chairs with seat numbers, and helping spectators to locate their seats. Once our guests are seated and the parades are under way, you get to stand back and enjoy this amazing San Antonio cultural tradition.
